Three shots of Marc's winning pile in its pen in champion's row. I was on my own taking these, had Marc had been present this bird would have stood much taller using a second person to assist with a judging stick |
AGMThe AGM was held at 1pm on the Sunday, 5th December. It was well attended with 31 people present. There were apologies of absence from Any Kerr, Christer Larrson, Klas Borg and Reg Spencer. Jennie O'Sullivan gave her Secretary's and Treasurer's Report. The accounts were duly passed with a huge vote of thanks to Jennie. All the Officers were eligble for re-election bar Chris Birtwell who wished to retire. There was a nomination for Simon Mckean as a committee members which was carried. There were no further nominations so the Officers remain the same apart from the new committee member. Alan Higgs will be the auditor. The proposed new constitution was circulated to the members and was duly proposed, seconded and adopted. The Subsciptions were proposed to increase to £10 (£5 concessions) which was passed. It was proposed we return to alternating the Club Show with Stafford. This was passed therefore 2005 Club show will be Stafford. The judges were elected as follows: Club Show (Stafford): Andrew Wetters, Black Reds and Wheatens. Andy Bryant and Ian Kay alternating the remaining colours. National: Betty Palmer and Colin Clark. The Regional Shows would elect their own judges but it was expected they would choose MGC members and judges. The new standards for Blue Duckwing and Crele were accepted by the Club. AOB. It was confirmed that in small shows Wheaten Males should be shown in Black Red male class and Wheaten Females should be shown in Black Red female classes. But if the female class is stipulated as "Partridge", then the Wheaten Female should go in AOC Class. It would be best if organisers of small shows clarified the Class as Black Red/Wheaten. Jennie made it clear and the meeting agreed that to accept a judging assignment for a major MGC show meant you also agreed to type and submit a judges report. Andrew closed the formal meeting and proceeded to present the Trophies |

Bird Photos
Here are some photos of the birds. This year I concentrated on some of the rarer colours and have made the images a little larger than I usually do. None of the images are distorted, this is exactly how the birds were. But as the birds were stood with some pretty gross bakgrounds, I highlighted the image with the "quick mask" tool in photoshop, then desaturated the background, ie. made it greyscale, then altered the tonal value of the background and in some cases added a gaussian blur to it. Hope you like the results. |
